Modern vehicles are stolen in seconds, often without a thief ever touching your keys. With cheap equipment bought online, criminals intercept your smart key's signal from outside your front door (a relay attack) or program a new key through the OBD port. A Ghost immobiliser stops both: the engine will not start until your secret PIN sequence is entered, so even a thief with a working key cannot drive away.
What Is the Autowatch Ghost?
The Ghost is a CAN-bus immobiliser with no key fobs, no LEDs and no cut wires for a thief to find or bypass. It is hidden inside the vehicle's wiring loom and talks to the car's own network. To start the engine you enter a personal PIN sequence using buttons your car already has — steering wheel, door panels or centre console — and you can change it whenever you like. Without the sequence the engine simply will not start, even with your original key.
Ghost 2 or Ghost 3 — Which One Does Your Car Need?
Autowatch now makes the Ghost 3, which works on both standard CAN and the newer, faster CAN-FD networks used by some recent BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi models. The Ghost 2 works on standard CAN-bus cars — most cars on the road — and gives the same protection there. We keep both in stock: Ghost 2 for standard CAN, Ghost 3 for CAN-FD. Service Mode, Emergency Code and App
- Service mode lets a garage or valet drive the car without knowing your sequence. By default it switches itself off after 15 minutes of continuous driving, and the Ghost re-arms when the ignition is turned off.
- Emergency code — every unit has a randomly generated code. If you forget your sequence, the code disarms the Ghost and lets you set a new one. We give it to you at installation — keep it out of the car.
- Smartphone or key-tag authorisation is available on compatible setups. Autowatch warns it lowers security (a phone in range or a stolen tag disarms the unit), so we fit the standard PIN setup unless you ask otherwise.

Will it cause faults or void my warranty?
A correctly installed Ghost does not cut factory wiring; it talks to the car's network. Tell your dealer it is fitted and keep the installation certificate.
