The problem: a 2020 Ford Transit Custom with no keys. Both had gone, the van was loaded for the day, and the customer had already been told by a dealer that it would need recovering and a key ordering in — a week off the road for a van that earns its living.

What we did: came to the van in Dartford, opened it without damage to the door, lock or glass, then read the immobiliser data at the vehicle and cut and programmed two new Transit Custom keys — a main key and a spare, so this never has to happen twice. The old keys were deleted from the van's memory: if they turn up, they won't open or start anything. Remote locking, doors, ignition — all tested before we left.

Cost: all-keys-lost from £119 with the key cut and programmed at your vehicle, price confirmed on the phone before we set off. A second key done in the same visit is far cheaper than a second call-out — and for a working van, far cheaper than a lost day.
